Six-on-Saturday 28-08-2021

We have our daughter and granddaughter coming to visit tomorrow so another fairly brief post today.

1)

Starting with a rose. The Rhapsody in Blue has had a couple of week’s rest and is now covered in new buds. πŸ˜€

2)

The penstemons continue to provide plenty of colour and will for many weeks to come.

3)

I pull up the feverfew usually but it looks good with the crocosmia

4)

….and with another penstemon.

5)

Fred’s amaranthus with the osteospermum. Some may say they clash but my flowers don’t really clash.

6)

Finishing with another rose.

The garden is now nearly hollyhockless. They have been excellent this year, as I have probably said before, some well over 2 metres high.

Have a good weekend in your garden. πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎπŸ¦‹πŸŒΉπŸ…πŸŒΊ πŸˆβ€β¬›

  1. I really like this rose ‘Rhapsody in Blue’. I discovered it while visiting a garden 3 years ago and have to say I still enjoy seeing it. I would have to get it one day!
Osteospermums are very bright, I like them a lot with these amaranthus. (I hope you will have plenty of others otherwise I could give you some seeds). Have a good weekend.

  2. I like feverfew. I have the golden one in my herb bed, but I noticed a wild one in the lane opposite my house, it seems to pop up randomly! I’m never sure about a ‘blue’ rose but yours looks quite purplely and rather lovely. Enjoy your family visitors – hopefully these ones won’t eat you out of house and home!

  3. Your feverfew are still blooming, mine have long since stopped, a pity as they add such freshness. Maybe I ought to deadhead them more thoroughly. That’s a lovely Rhapsody in Blue rose. Enjoy the family visit!
